People and Culture

AWE provides a safe and rewarding workplace where people are empowered to perform.

AWE encourages workforce diversity of gender and culture, which is a significant asset for the business and enables the company to achieve its strategic goals.

AWE promotes creativity, teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement in the workplace. Our values of honesty, integrity, common sense and respect are an integral part of working at AWE.

Case study: Industry group involvement

AWE is affiliated with two key industry bodies, the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). PESA is a non-profit association of individuals involved in the exploration for oil and gas, and SPE is the largest individual-member organisation serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry.

Both of these groups hold training courses, organise events and speakers, and hold Young Professionals events. AWE supports staff and managers to be involved at both the committee level and in attending events in terms of both time and cost. AWE also hosts events and is a leading organisation in terms of involvement in Sydney.

Benefits for our people include networking and developing technical knowledge. Externally, our involvement provides students with a picture of life in the industry, and brings enthusiasm and young talent into the industry.
