CEO and Managing Director

David Biggs was appointed Managing Director and CEO of AWE Limited on 2 May 2016. David’s 35-year career in the upstream oil and gas sector includes senior executive roles at Cue Energy, BHP Billiton Petroleum, the Natural Gas Corporation and the Petroleum Corporation of New Zealand. He has extensive experience in leadership, strategy and planning, business improvement, P&L management and commercial transactions, particularly M&A and gas marketing, gained in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, the USA and other international markets. David holds a tertiary qualification in law from Victoria University in Wellington.

Ian Bucknell

Chief Financial Officer

Ian Bucknell joined AWE as Chief Financial Officer in July 2016. He is responsible for finance, commercial, planning and forecasting, treasury, taxation and financial reporting.

Ian is an experienced CFO with over 18 years international upstream oil and gas financial experience including senior executive roles at Drillsearch Energy, Great Artesian Oil and Gas Limited, and Oil Search Limited.

Ian is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Andy Furniss

General Manager, Exploration & Geoscience

Andy Furniss joined AWE in February 2009 working in Exploration and New Ventures management roles prior to his appointment as General Manager Exploration and Geoscience in January 2016. He is responsible for leading AWE's team of geoscientists across all areas of the business in Exploration, Development and New Ventures.

Andy has over 25 years of industry experience having worked in a variety of senior technical and managerial positions for Chevron, West Australian Petroleum (WAPET) and Paradigm Geophysical. He has extensive exploration experience having worked in the basins of Australia, Indonesia, SE Asia, New Zealand, Gulf of Mexico, UK and West Africa. Specific areas of expertise include portfolio management, prospect evaluation, technical due diligence and peer review, reserves assessment, strategic planning, business development and the application of advanced geophysical technology.

Suzanne Hunt

Dr. Suzanne Hunt

General Manager WA Assets and Engineering

Suzanne has a Ph.D. in Geomechanics, a BSc Geophysics with Mathematics, a MSc in Mining Geology and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. During her 25-year career in mining and petroleum, Suzanne has worked across multiple disciplines including geology, geotechnics, geophysics, field development planning, reserves estimation, production and facilities engineering.

Suzanne has published over 50 papers in production engineering, field development planning, reservoir engineering, micro-seismicity and geomechanics. She has a keen interest in the integration of disciplines and the advancement of processes and systems which create interdisciplinary collaboration for asset improvement.

Neville Kelly

Company Secretary and General Manager Corporate

Neville Kelly joined AWE in 1997 upon its public listing and was both Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary until October 2011.

Neville's role now includes Company Secretary where he is responsible for all company secretarial duties and other corporate responsibilities including ASX and ASIC compliance and corporate governance.

Neville's career has spanned 30 years including 28 years commercial experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, including 12 years in a variety of roles with Bridge Oil Limited.
